COVID-19 RESPONSE

DO NOT ABANDON YOUR PETS

There is NO evidence that humans can contract the virus from their pet. Practice normal hygienic measures that you should already be doing as a pet owner - keep them and their areas clean, washing your hands, etc.

If you are in need of assistance feeding your pet because of a loss of income due to the virus, please email fohcas.ky@gmail.com or text

270-801-5224 and we will help you in any way we can.

Can you donate to help others keep their pets at home where they belong? Please donate to our Emergency Pet Retention Fund here

The Hardin County Animal Shelter is closed to the public temporarily due to the virus. We will update our Facebook page when the shelter returns to normal operations.

Thanks to you the Dirty Dog Bash 2019 was a huge success...

Make your pet a work of art!

We are partnering with local artist Brandon Whelan on his AH-MA-ZING art!!! Kitten Bombs Art will take your picture of your furry best friend(s) and make them into a gorgeous piece of digital art. See for yourself - Brandon took our fabulous (adopted) Vivian and made her even more timeless

(we didn’t know it was possible!)
With every portrait, Brandon is donating a portion of his sale to our medical fund!

About Us

UNTIL THERE ARE NONE, SAVE ONE

Friends of Hardin County Animal Shelter (FOHCAS) was formed in January 2014 to support the Hardin County Animal Shelter by providing materials and equipment that are outside of the shelter's budget, establishing a medical fund to provide veterinary care to injured and sick shelter pets, and educating the community about responsible pet ownership and help facilitate lasting adoptions that benefit both the pet and the petowner.

Our mission has expanded with the creation of our Spay/Neuter Assistance Program.  The SNAP certificates assist Hardin County residents with getting their pets spayed/neutered at local veterinarians in the county.  By working to reduce pet overpopulation we will - over time - reduce the number of pets that end up in our animal shelter.

100% of the donations to Friends of Hardin County Animal Shelter are used to fulfill our mission. We have no paid employees, just volunteers willing to work for the pets of our county.

FOHCAS is a 501c3 tax exempt public charity.
